Pre-Conference Workshop Day

Tuesday October 11, 2022

9:30 - 17:00

Workshop A | 9:30am - 11:30am | To Flow or Not To Flow?

• This workshop will enable participants to explore when a process should be applying flow chemistry.
• Discuss how you and others would approach evidence and analysis collection to determine a continuous chemistry route forward.
• Gain key insight and tangible takeaways through case-studies & conversations to justify your chemical processes going forward and ensure future flow opportunities aren’t missed.

Workshop B | 12:30pm - 2:30pm | Change Management: Building the Business Case for Flow

With takeaways from a real-life case study, hear how industry is approaching building the business case surrounding flow & discuss:

  • How to build the argument for implementing a flow chemistry process, especially to non-scientists
  • From basic research to commercial production – what is necessary to bring a flow process to life?
  • How can organizations manage the transition towards flow to create a path towards commercialization?
  1. What are the challenges we’ve encountered to date?
  2. How were the challenges & change managed?

Workshop C | 3:00pm - 5:00pm | Implementing Flow with a CMO – Executing Effective Tech Transfer

• With the industry witnessing increased CMO / CDMO investment in flow capabilities, as well as more biopharma, API, and fine chemical movement towards flow scale-up, understanding and learning from peers on best practices for CMO tech transfer is of increasing priority.
• With in-house process complexities in mind, this workshop will share case studies, learnings, and examples of working closely with vendors for continuous chemistry transfer, custom build of equipment, and understanding of the needs and make-up of a continuous facility in 2022.
• Utilize this opportunity to optimize your current & future collaboration for shortened development timelines and strengthened partner relationships.
